Updated: August 26, 2024
As you can probably tell, I really love food, and so it’s unsurprising that I want to focus on food options at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 2024 event. Every year they offer something new and delicious to try alongside their infamously stellar production dedicated to all things horror.
And yes, while this is a food guide for Halloween Horror Nights, we’ll have a chat as to when and what to expect from the event, too. However, if you’d like to hop straight to the food section, feel free to skip ahead.
What are the dates for Halloween Horror Nights 2024?
The party occurs between August 30th and November 3rd, 2024.
Specific dates are:
- August 30, 31,
- September 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29,
- October 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31, and
- November 1, 2, 3
Premier Passholders get one free complimentary ticket to the event on certain dates, and they are:
- September 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 25, 26,
- October 2, 3, 9, 10, 30, and
- November 1, 2, 3
Premium Scream Night is a new event that will be held on August 29th for a limited capacity, but comes with a hefty price tag of $350.
What’s Halloween Horror Nights?
Located at Universal Orlando’s Universal Studios Florida park, Halloween Horror Nights is one of the most celebrated Halloween theme park festivals in the United States. It has won awards across 14 years and continues to make waves with haunted houses like The Last of Us, Stranger Things 4, and other original houses.
It is an opportunity to be scared, eat limited edition food, and experience the park late into the wee hours of the early morning.
This event is best attended by those over the age of 13 as attractions, scare actors, etc, may be too intense for younger park goers.
Do I need a separate ticket for Halloween Horror Nights?
Indeed you do.
This is a separate ticketed event and a regular ticket or passholder pass will not allow access (outside of designated tiers and days). You can easily buy tickets online or at the gate the day of the event.
If you buy the day of you do run the risk of tickets being sold out, so definitely suggest buying them ahead of time.
However, if you happen to be in the park and want to be part of the action between 3-5 PM there is a “Scream Early” ticket available starting at $55.00.
What time does Halloween Horror Nights begin?
The party starts at 6:30 PM.
If you only have a ticket for the event, you’ll be allowed in at that time once the gates open.
If you buy a regular day ticket (or are a passholder) and are inside of the park, there are sectioned off parts of the park they hold inside guests while they wait for day guests to clear out and for the event to officially begin.
The park typically closes an hour before the event begins.
Can I wear a costume to HHN?
Unfortunately, no costumes are allowed at Halloween Horror Nights.
Cheapest Days to Attend Halloween Horror Nights 2024
September has the best pricing and most weekdays available to attend on the cheap. Weekends will see you paying more money; however, the earlier you buy, the cheaper for Express Pass (if you’re looking to buy that) since the park raises the prices the closer we get.
Currently the highest amount for Express Pass is $239.99 on October 12th and 19th.
Here’s what pricing looks like on specific dollar days:
$83 days – September 4, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 25, 26, and October 2
$86 days – September 22, 29, and October 3
$88 days – October 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
If you’re looking to attend the party, I highly suggest buying them in advanced and online.
But if you’re looking for more days, multi-night tickets are available as well if you’re looking to explore more nights inside of the jungle that will be screams. Prices start as low as $179.99 going upwards of over $400+.
Those passes are:
- Rush of Fear Pass, starting from $179.99
- Frequent Fear Pass, starting from $239.99
- Frequent Fear Plus Pass starting from $289.99, and
- Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass starting from $399.99
Rush of Fear is for the first 18 nights of the event, Frequent Fear up to 30 nights, Frequent Fear Plus up to 40 nights, and the Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass up to 48 nights (every single night!). These passes can only be bought online.
On the first night of sales the Express Access passes for the top 3 tiers sold out, which saves lots of time in the line – especially on super busy nights.
By utilizing these passes you’ll save a lot more money than if you paid per day.
What to Expect at Halloween Horror Nights
Outside of the food, there’s a lot to do at Halloween Horror Nights, such as attending live shows, and hitting up scare zones and Haunted Houses. There’s also special appearances from Death Eaters in Diagon Alley, if this section of the park is opened, that could make Harry Potter fans overjoyed, too.
Halloween Horror Nights Premium Scream Night
For the first time, Universal is hosting a Halloween Horror Nights pre-party date on August 29th with limited capacity. Basically, you’re first to see the party, get into houses with very little people in the park, and have an almost VIP access to the party. But it comes at a very hefty price.
$350 to be exact. 😭😩
Scream Night has not sold out, therefore if you’re looking for that first taste this would be perfect for you.
Scare Zones
There are 5 scare zones that are designated open areas in the park where you’ll encounter the scary, the terrifying, and the down-right haunting. It’s very difficult to avoid these zones if you’re easily scared as they are at at the walking choke points of the parks, so be cautious and keep your wits about you.
All announced zones are:
- Torture Faire → “Come one, come all, to the renaissance faire. Brave the gloriously gory medieval torture devices ‘til you’re put out of your misery.” Location: New York
- Swamp of the Undead → “In backwaters Louisiana, you’re about to be swamped by zombies borne from the bodies of trespassers killed and dumped in a nearby bog.” Location: Walkway in front of NBC Media Center
- Demon Queens → “Get caught in an otherworldly hellscape ripped from the darkest corners of your mind. Four merciless queens loyal to SURR3AL rule, surrounded by hordes of fanatical followers.”
- Duality of Fear → “As soon as you enter the gates of Halloween Horror Nights, you must choose a path: follow SINIST3R, the manifestation of visceral horror. Or follow SURR3AL,the incarnation of unearthly terror.”
- Enter the Blumhouse → “Escape a terrifying gauntlet of Blumhouse characters. From sinister sadists from The Purge and Black Phone to M3GAN dancing into your nightmares, you’ve never known horror like this.” Location: San Francisco
Now that they’re setting up the park for the event, here are what some of the zones are starting to look like:
Haunted Houses
With 10 scheduled haunted houses, all houses have been announced. They are as follows:
- Slaughter Sinema 2 → “If you’re dying for a b-movie horror marathon, head to the Carey Drive-in. Scream through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns and more.”
- Goblin’s Feast → “Welcome to the Goblin’s Feast Tavern and visit the goblin village where a lavish feast is being prepared for goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches. And you’re the main course.”
- Major Sweets Candy Factory → “You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. The deadly delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends.”
- The Museum: Deadly Exhibit → “You decide to visit the new folklore museum exhibit, The Rotting Stone, when an evil escapes from within, destroying everything in its path.”
- Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America → “With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be begging for piedad from these three terrifying legends: Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza and El Silbón.”
- Triplets of Terror → “You’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday bash. But beware, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. Prepare for a gory gathering.”
- A Quiet Place → “Like the Abbott family, you must keep quiet as you travel from the farmhouse, to the woods, to the foundry. As soon as you make a sound, monstrous creatures who can hear the slightest noise will hunt you down and silence you for good.”
- Ghostbusters: A Frozen Empire → “An ancient artifact has released a chilling new entity, Garraka. Try not to freeze in fear as he freezes people before your eyes. Only the Ghostbusters can stop you from getting iced.”
- Insidious: The Further → “Don’t get trapped in The Further as terrifying demons try to ensnare you. Enter the Red-Faced Demon’s lair behind The Red Door. And try to keep away from KeyFace, so he can’t lock up your spirit.”
- Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines → “Get caught in an epic battle as Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein go up against Dracula’s daughter and her monstrous mavens.”
Live Show
When you’re all screamed out or looking for an opportunity away from all the screaming park goers, catch the live show at the Fear Factor stage.
This year’s show will be Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus. “Step right up to a dark circus, a new nightmare that carries with it a sinister curse. Get trapped in a thrilling spectacle of pyro and aerialists to the beat of pulse pounding rock rhythms.”
Halloween Horror Night Tours
During the event you have the option to do two tours: R.I.P Tour or the Private R.I.P Tour. Theses tours give you more access to the party by helping skip the lines and making you feel like the horror royalty that you are.
There’s also a daytime tour, Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror Tour, that is great for those too squeamish to do the haunted houses in the evening.
R.I.P Tour
This tour, the R.I.P. Tour, is a group tour that allows you to get through more of the party with less wait time and a whole lot more fun up to 6 people (various parties combined).
With several designated times, this tour runs over the course of 4.5 hours and gives you VIP access to the haunted houses, a commemorative credential, lanyard and button, complimentary valet parking, Unlimited Express Pass for rides and attractions (with use of the commemorative credential), and reserved seating at select events during the tour.
Advanced reservation is required and subject to availability so it’s wise to grab the tours early to ensure you solidify your spot.
The tour is in addition to your ticket for the event and starts at $369.99 plus tax going as high as $499.99 per person.
Private R.I.P Tour
However, if you want all the same perks from the group tour, but not looking to be among people you don’t know, let a private Universal Orlando guide guide you on a Private R.I.P Tour for up to 10 people.
The biggest benefit to this tour comes in handy for passholders as there are discounts to be had.
- Premier and Preferred Passholders get 10% off
- Power Passholders get 5% off
The tour is in addition to your ticket for the event and you must call to book at (866) 346-9350.
Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror Tour
This tour is perfect for the lover of Universal Orlando’s Horror Makeup Show or the general fan of all things spooky, but isn’t looking to get special access during the party (or can’t attend). This tour is conducted during day time hours and gives you the ability to photograph the houses (which is very cool!,
There are some options for this tour – a 3 house tour or a 6 house tour. 3 house tours last 2.5 hours, whereas 6 house tours last 5 hours.
The 3 house tour starts at $99.99 plus tax going as high as $159.99 and does not require a separate theme park ticket.
The 6 house tour starts at $179.99 plus tax going as high as $219.99 and also does not require a separate theme park ticket.

Halloween Horror Nights Planning & Tips
In order to make the night go over well, here are some tips and tricks to make your time more enjoyable.
Tip #1: Get lots of rest prior to heading in. The night can be exhausting from all the screaming, running, and food you’re going to shove into your belly.
Tip #2: The less you bring into the park, the easier your night will go. If you need to, bring a fanny pack with minor essentials like over-the-counter painkillers and a water bottle to sooth your soon-to-be aching vocal chords.
Tip #3: Arrive early if you’re looking to hit up all of the houses, but know that you’ll most likely leave early too as your energy wanes. But if you’re a champ and make it through the entire event, I applaud you.
Tip #4: Attend an earlier night within the first two weeks to take advantage of everything since there will be less people attending earlier in the season. The closer to Halloween, the more people will be in the area for other events (e.g., Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom and Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld) and therefore want to attend. Around Halloween are the least attended dates though, surprisingly, so you may be able to get away with those days, but don’t count on it as more people hear about that.
Tip #5: If you’re in a scare zone, don’t touch the scare actors; if you’re uncomfortable tell them to stop and they may stop, but it’s not a guarantee. Inside of the haunted house, maybe don’t go inside if you’re scared – they will continue because it’s the entire premise of the venue. However, they do have exits along the house, so just let an actor know and they’ll let you out.
Tip #6: Make a plan of the food you want to hit up and make it part of the adventure because you might find some things to be creepy but tasty!
Tip #7: If you scare easily, you will find it very difficult not getting caught in a scare zone, they are at most of the chokehold walking points of the park. Good luck.
Tip #8: If you plan to be there for more than one night of scares look into getting one of the multi-night tickets, especially if you’re thinking of coming 3 or more times.
Happy Halloween!
As we get closer to HHN 2024, I’ll definitely update this guide with the information for the season.

An amazing, misleading, useless article. It should have a completely different title. I really feel bad for the people who wasted their time clicking on this article, only to see the menu from 2023. Good job!
Hey!
I understand your frustrations, however, I can’t post information that Universal themselves have not posted. Because this post is for 2024, when the 2024 menu drops, the title is not misleading especially considering I was clear that the menus have not dropped but we were teased with treats for the 2024 season.
We’re all eagerly awaiting the information for the food just as much as you are (i.e., Orlando Informer, Thrill Geek, Undercover Tourist, etc). Until then, hang tight; it seems like the menu won’t actually be updated until closer to August 30th unfortunately. Have a great evening and have fun during the HHN festivities.
