Brick by brick, kids love building castles, spaceships, igloos, their favorite heroes and heroines using Legos. But did you know that your kids can actually be among a larger than life set of Legos, too?
To see those you’ll have to travel to one of three states–New York, Florida, or California–to get your Lego fix. But if you’re an avid Lego aficionado you’ll want to go overseas to Germany, Dubai, South Korea, Japan, Italy, or Malaysia (but we won’t get into those just yet) to experience all that there is to offer from Merlin Entertainments’ growing portfolio.
This guide will take a tour through the parks in the United States of America, namely the Winter Haven, FL location, exploring their season passes, dining options, seasonal events, and much more. So take your time, relax, and I hope that this helps you to make the best decision for you and your family.
Day Tickets
Taking your kids to Legoland is a fun outing, with lots to do, but it can still be pretty expensive if you aren’t prepared ahead of time. Here’s the biggest tip: buy your tickets ahead of time. Not only do you save yourself the headache, but you save yourself a decent amount of money. Not necessarily half like other parks, but enough to feel satisfied.
If for any reason you don’t buy your tickets ahead of time though, hop online and buy those tickets before heading into the park. Most of us have a smartphone, or access to one nearby, so use it and get those tickets at the online price rather than the gate price. But, if you’re someone who loves to prepare ahead of time…
At this time Theme Park Bites has an affiliate partnership with Merlin Entertainments that provides theme park tickets to Legoland Florida. There are also tickets to Madame Tussauds Orlando and SEA LIFE Orlando as well (please let me know if you’d like me to add those to this page in the future), but since this is a theme park specific blog, I thought this would be best. I hope that our partnership extends into their California and New York locations to help my foodie readers soon.
Before I move on, I want to clear the air on how many parks there really are under the Legoland umbrella. Even though there are three main locations, Florida and California have extra parks. New York is a seasonal park and usually opens up around April closing after October.
- Legoland California Resort + Legoland California Water Park + SEA LIFE Aquarium
- Legoland Florida Resort + Legoland Florida Water Park + Peppa Pig Theme Park + SEA LIFE Florida (Coming Soon)
Note: Yes, while Peppa Pig is part of the below mentioned 3 day ticket package, this guide will not go over anything Peppa Pig related. Same corral, different rodeo.
Between all of the parks, prices on the Legoland websites range from:
Online
- 1 day tickets: $49 to $129
- 2 day tickets: $99 to $174 (FL and CA only)
- 3 day tickets: $199 to $235 (FL only)
vs
In-person
- 1 day tickets: $94 to 149
- 2 day tickets: $149 to $204 (FL and CA only)
- 3 day tickets: ≈$300+ (FL)
At times there are kid ticket specials for $39 with a full price Adult hopper ticket, so keep your eyes peeled for those!
Military / Veterans: There are deeply discounted tickets available for you through your local ITT office across all Legoland parks.
To my international foodie friends: Americans are used to being taxed out the wazoo, but you’re not, so, please take that into consideration that you will be taxed on top of the numbers that you see on this page. Sometimes I may note it, but at times I may not, but it doesn’t mean that the tax disappears. I’m sorry! 😭
Benefits of Being a Legoland Annual Pass Holder
Being an Annual pass holder is pretty neat no matter what park you hold one at and Legoland is of no exception. It saves you money, time waiting around to buy a ticket, and there are perks that regular day visitors simply don’t receive.
There are five tiers–Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Elite.
Elite is Legoland’s US Pass, much in the same that they have it in the UK and Germany. We’ll talk about that one last as I do with all of my other passes of my other food guides because this is a very sexy pass.
By the way, if you happened to have bought a day ticket within 30 days of wanting to become an annual pass holder you can receive $100 off your AP, but you must present your ticket at the time of upgrade. Unfortunately, the upgrade can’t be done online, as you have to do this at a ticket booth.
Bronze Pass
The cheapest pass of all five tiers, the Bronze pass is only available in Florida and in New York. While they are named the same, they actually differ dramatically, which will be explained under their respective titles below.
One thing in common between both locations are early access to any entertainment shows happening inside of the parks and exclusive rewards.
2025 Blockout Dates: Florida • New York / Local Attractions: NY
Legoland Florida
In Florida, the Bronze pass is only available to Florida residents.
There is a monthly and a full price option. Monthly is $9.99 with a $30 down payment with the full price option upfront at $149 for a new pass. However, if you are renewing the price is $104.30 at full price.
When applicable there are family and friend discounted tickets. You’ll receive emails when those tickets are available for purchase.
Aside from that there aren’t any other perks with this pass, you simply get to go to Legoland and have some fun! But if that’s all you need, then this is a great pass for you.
Legoland New York
There is a monthly and a full price option with the Better Bronze NY Pass. Monthly is $20 with a $22.42 down payment with the full price option upfront at $119 for a new pass. If you’re renewing the price is $89 at full price.
Perks are little more robust with 10% retail, dining, and Legoland New York hotel stay discounts and access to 4 local Merlin Entertainment attractions. While at those local attractions there’s also a 10% dining and retail discount there, too. *nudge nudge*
- Legoland New York Resort
- Legoland Discovery Center New Jersey
- Legoland Discovery Center Westchester
- SEA LIFE New Jersey
Silver Pass
Next up is Silver. Between California and Florida, there’s a vast difference. California acts like Bronze and really has nothing in common with Florida’s pass.
2025 Blockout Dates: California • Florida
Legoland California
If you’re only looking for access to the theme park, this pass is all you need, as that’s all you’ll get.
With no monthly option, you can get this pass for $179, the only additional perk is a 15% off Legoland California Hotel and Legoland Castle hotel stays.
Legoland Florida
If you’re needing a monthly payment, it’s $12.99 with a $44 down payment, with the full price at $199. Renewal goes for $139.30.
This pass has a few perks to ease the pressure, especially as a Florida resident, with 10% off hotel, food and beverage, and shopping. There’s also free parking (valued $32 for standard parking😵💫) which is a huge price saver alongside 10% savings on VIP tours.
There’s also, when available, family and friends discounted tickets. Legoland will send out emails for those when they’re available for purchase.
Gold Pass
This is the first pass where all three parks converge because they exist amongst all of them! But there is a difference amongst each and every one of them.
I was hoping that this pass would have free parking across all parks, but unfortunately, it does not.
2025 Blackout Dates: California • Regional Blackout Dates: NY
Legoland California
There is a monthly and a full price option with the Gold pass. The monthly is $15 with a $49 down payment, whereas the full price option is $229. Renewal goes for $160.30.
This pass gives admission to all three parks: Legoland California, the water park, and SEA LIFE Aquarium, 15% discount on dining and Legoland California Resort and 10% discount on retail.
Unfortunately, no free parking.
Legoland Florida
Alright, for this park, I really like this pass. It’s truly a best of both worlds pass between this and the Elite pass. The monthly payment is $17 with a $55 down payment, with the full price at $259. Renewal is at $181.30.
With no blockout dates, it’s already an attractive pass as it grants access to all Florida parks: Legoland Florida, the water park, Peppa Pig Theme Park, and the coming soon SEA LIFE Florida.
There’s also free parking (valued at $32 for standard), 15% off VIP tours, and admission to 4 local attractions.
- SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium
- Madame Tussaud’s Orlando
- The Orlando Eye
- The Lego Discovery Center Atlanta
Legoland New York
In need of a monthly payment? $28.50 with a down payment of $42.23. The full price will be $169. Renewal goes for $129.
This pass is a great option for those looking for a middle ground between passes. With free parking ($35 for stand parking, $50 for preferred parking), 10% hotel, dining, and retail discounts, and access to 9 regional attractions.
- Legoland Discovery Centers and Lego Discovery Centers across New Jersey, New York, Boston (MA), Philadelphia (PA), Toronto (Canada), and DC
- SEA LIFE New Jersey
- Madame Tussaud’s New York
Platinum Pass
2025 Blockout Dates: California
Legoland California
There is a monthly payment of $18.50 with a down payment of $57 with a full price option of $279. Renewal costs $195.30.
This pass is only available at Legoland California and allows for access to all three California parks: Legoland California, the water park, and SEA LIFE Aquarium.
There is also a 20% food and beverage discount and 10% retail discounts and a 15% discount on Legoland California hotel stays.
Elite Pass
This pass grants you access to more than 30 attractions in the United States. You can choose between any of the three locations as your home base–California, Florida, or New York.
All the passes cost the same: monthly payment of $23.25 with a down payment of $70 with a full price of $349. Renewal is $244.30. The only exception is Legoland New York which has no monthly payment for Elite.
These passes have unlimited admission to their main parks and sub-parks, free parking–general at CA and NY, preferred at FL– (valued at $34 and $35 respectively for general and $52 for preferred), onsite hotel discounts, and up to 25% off food and beverage (10% in FL, 15% in NY, 25% in CA).
Pros and Cons of the Legoland Annual Passes
Pros of the Pass: With unlimited access to the home park, you save money over the course of your pass. I think the best pro actually comes from being a day ticket user upgrading to a pass holder as you don’t have to pay much more so long as you paid at or under $100 for your ticket.
The savings on food are a nice plus alongside the hotel stay discounts, too! Also, even if you’re not at the highest tier, but at a 2nd or 3rd tier pass you get access to local attractions nearby which adds even more value to the pass. As a Floridian pass holder, being able to go to The Orlando Eye whenever you please sounds like a great weekend trip.
The higher the tier, the more you save, as there is more value in your pass. The Elite pass is valued over $2,260 considering the access to over 30 attractions across the continental United States. There is a lot of value in the free parking as well, considering the high cost of general parking (>$30).
Also, can’t forget, you can download your pass to the Legoland app as a digital pass so you never forget it at home.
California
Florida
New York
Cons of the Pass: The passes aren’t cohesive in what they offer. One Bronze pass offers this while this Silver pass offers that, but oh, here’s a Platinum pass out the blue! It’s weird.
And I say that because you can shop around for what you want obviously. But that could just be for me since I had to do all that research and not necessarily for you. I dunno.
There are no meal plans to add to the passes like other theme parks, which I found strange., not even a souvenir cup that could be added. The fact that there is a lack of free parking for half of these passes is quite disturbing, but I think I understand from Merlin’s perspective? But also, I don’t. As a pass holder, I expect free parking if it’s at least above the lowest tier.
With the higher tiers you’ll be asked for your license plate in order to get your free parking activated which means you can’t switch cars, which I think is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. I tend to go in different cars when going to parks (my friends, mine, my boyfriend’s) so being limited to one car doesn’t make sense, especially with families with more than one car.
Overview of the Legoland Meal Plans
Not all locations are created equally I see. What you see here is all I was able to find on meals, which is a lot less than I usually find in most of my other guides, but better you know what you’re getting into now than later, right?
Legoland New York seems to get the short end of the stick in a lot of areas because I couldn’t find a meal plan anywhere, so I’m really sorry, but I’ve got nothing for you guys. If this information changes in the future I’ll update this immediately.
Over at Legoland California, y’all don’t fare that much better. 😭🥲 With only a Collectors Cup, I’m surprised that this location doesn’t have a meal plan available for purchase through the day ticket portal. I even tried to check between the 1 and 2 day tickets and nothing. Perplexing.
Anyway, there’s an option between 1 day and 2 days for unlimited drinks:
- 1 day cup: $21.79
- 2 day cup: $22.95
Legoland Florida has meal deals through the day ticket portal. Nothing spectacular, but enough to potentially save some money. The Combo Online Meal Deal is a complete package that comes with an entrée at the Pizza and Pasta Restaurant*, an all-day cup, and a souvenir cup filled with iconic Granny’s Apple Fries a la Mode.
Bought separately for a child it’s already a decent amount of savings.
- Coca-Cola Freestyle Souvenir Cup: $20.23
- Combo Online Meal Deal: Adult – $53.75 • Child – $47.63
- Souvenir Granny’s Apple Fries A La Mode: $17.00
*Pizza and Pasta Restaurant is an all-you-can-eat buffet, so, hey, you’ll be getting your money’s worth.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you bring food and water into Legoland?
Yes, you are able to bring outside food and water into Legoland. Bottled water, food that does not require heating, any food required for special dietary needs, baby food and formula and food that need to meet medical needs are allowed into Legoland.
Can you take coolers into Legoland?
Yes, soft-side insulated bags no larger than 8.5″ wide x 6″ high x 6″ deep. Hard-sided coolers are not allowed into the park (however, keep that in your car if you want to eat out in the parking lot!).
Is outside alcohol allowed inside the park?
No, alcohol is now allowed into the park.
What special dietary needs and allergens does Legoland cater to?
They cater to practically ever dietary need and they have dietary guides across all three locations spelling out what restaurants are free of which allergen. They cater to vegetarians and vegans, but not to kosher or halal diets. As for allergens, they have a lot of options for anyone who is gluten-free, dairy-free, shellfish/crustacean-free, egg-free, soy-free, peanut/tree-nut free, and sesame-free.
Dining Options at Legoland
Typically I write guides on locations I’ve physically been, but I actually have never had the pleasure of going to any Legoland as of yet. So, I can only go off intuition here and the information on their website and apps. Once I am able to get a taste of Legoland Florida I will be able to update this section soon thereafter.
Legoland has food options divided into two options: quick-service and snack carts, so things are easy to find as you make your way around the park.
Quick Service
These restaurants will offer most of your heartier meals like pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and those tasty chicken nuggets your kids crave. Some places will have indoor seating and some will have outdoor. Take your pick, but remember to check the dietary guides to ensure your kids can eat at the location.
Some locations are Pizza & Pasta Buffet (CA), Pepper & Roni’s Pizza Stop (FL), and Royal Feast (NY)
Snack Carts / Stands
Scattered around the parks, kind of like those Coca-Cola Freestyle machines you see everywhere, these stands carry all sorts of sweets and treats (and sometimes just super quick on the go food) like ice cream, the iconic apple fries, and delicious pretzels.
Locations you may find could be: Granny’s Apple Fries (NY), Chicken and Crown (CA), and Funnel Cake Factory (FL)
How Does Legoland Handle Special Dietary Needs and Food Sensitivities?
They do surprisingly well with handling dietary needs and food sensitivities. Their dietary guide (their FL one was last updated in 2022) showcases everything from Gluten-Free, Shellfish/Crustacean-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut/Peanut-Free, Egg-Free, Soy-Free, and Sesame-Free to Vegetarian and Vegan friendly locations. While I wish their guide showed more along the side of what foods were which, I think it’s a great start at the very least.
However, they have a CertiStar system for their California and New York locations which does show which food has allergens. However, (yes, another one), when I tried using the system by clicking on the allergen I needed eliminated (e.g., dairy or peanuts) or wanted to eat (i.e., vegetarian) nothing shifted. So, I’m personally not a fan of the CertiStar system.
That or I don’t know how to properly use it. Beats me. 🤷🏾♀️
Legoland California CertiStar • Legoland Florida Dietary Guide • Legoland New York CertiStar
If you need more information, you can email each location’s chefs for more dietary concerns–
Legoland California: experience@legoland.com | Legoland Florida: LLF-Food@legoland.com | Legoland New York: legolandf&b@levyrestaurants.com
But as you can see from this guide, a lot of locations at their Legoland Florida caters to a wide variety of allergies and just about every location caters to those with vegetarian and vegan needs as well.
And based on what I saw through CertiStar, so do the others (they just need to do a better job of making sure their system works!).
Local Flavors and International Cuisine at Legoland
There isn’t a lot regarding international cuisine at Legoland. If you’re looking for Latin-inspired cuisine, the closest you’ll get are tacos and a few other dishes, but remember that children are the focus so this makes a lot of sense.
Examples of those are Everything Tacos (New York) and Taco Everyday (Florida).
Asian-fusion has a place at one location in Florida at Ninja Kitchen Food Truck with bao buns, egg rolls, among other items. There’s also another in California with Everything is Ramen full of options like Miso Ramen, rice bowls, and salads.
Kid Friendly Dining at Legoland
The parks are geared toward children between 2 and 12 so I promise you when I say that the food at Legoland is absolutely also created with your children in mind. You will not find a shortage of treats and options around every corner at any of the locations.
The thing I really admire about Legoland is their attention to the allergen and dietary needs of their customer base as they have many options catered for anyone seeking something to eat. And if there isn’t something, or you’re not willing to risk it, they encourage families to bring food into the park that will make them feel more comfortable (within reason).
Anyway, there’s everything from the classics: hot dogs, pizza, burgers, french fries, popcorn, funnel cake, and sandwiches to food that kids would find just as good in tacos, bao buns, ramen, rice bowls, and more. There’s food across the entire nutritious spectrum at Legoland, so don’t worry, you should be fine no matter what, although, it’ll definitely veer more towards the unhealthier side but y’know it’s a theme park, one day (or a couple) is okay, right?
Legoland Events and Festivals
Kids get to have their safe fun at Legoland with events geared to and for them. While there aren’t a lot of things happening for them, I think Legoland does a pretty decent job honestly! Most of the big events surprisingly happen at their Florida location, but that’s probably due to it being in the theme park capital of the world, so it makes sense.
The Kids Marathon Mile is a 5K over at Legoland California. At the time of writing, this event has already passed (January 18), but your kiddo can definitely start training now for their chance to do it again next year. This is a great event to cheer your little ones on and have the big siblings cheer their younger ones on to the finish line.
LEGO NINJAGO Weekends starts the year off right! Ninjas-in-training can head to Legoland Florida build, train, and enhance their ninja fighting skills to top-notch black belt status (if they so choose). 😉 There’s interactive shows, character meet and greets, and some new snacks on menus for hungry ninjas.
Celebrate the fourth of July with Legoland’s Red White + BOOM event. With special extended hours just for birth of the nation, there are DJ dance parties, special limited-time treats, and a fireworks show that transform those ordinary fireworks into LEGO bricks with special 3D glasses! If you want something a little different than having a picnic with the neighbors, this could be it.
Summer Saturday Nights are all about vibes, music, and fun. Take it easy and be free (almost like any other day), but there will be live local bands to keep you company over at Legoland New York.
Brick-or-Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat! One of the biggest events of the year, Legoland is a fantastic place to take the kids for Halloween festivities, especially if you’re an Elite annual pass holder (it’s included for you!). This MONSTROUS party is chock-full of candy trails, live entertainment and shows, and hauntingly delicious treats to tickle your stomach (like Goblin Toes, yum).
But if you’re not about the kid-friendly spooky, but are all about the fa-la-la-la-la’s, then you’re in luck. Holidays at LEGOLAND at Legoland Florida is a USA Today 10Best event. If your kids love Christmas and legos, this event is a no-brainer. It has a brick-built Christmas tree, sled with reindeer, and a life-size lego Santa Claus to meet and greet. And of course, there’s a scrumdiddlyumptious menu of treats to try that’s sure to be a hit for the whole family.
And if you’re still in the neighborhood over in Legoland Florida, Kids’ New Years Eve rounds out the year with a kid-friendly hour fireworks show.
